What's on in September 2025
Hi everyone,
I hope you are well.
Welcome to September's content schedule! Here's a sneak peek of what you can look forward to this month:
- Fundamental tutorial - Wool Beginner Course - Acrylic Paint - Available September 1 (today) in "Exclusive Content"
Due to popular requests for shorter, more targeted lessons, this month we’re doing something a little different. Instead of our usual major tutorial release, we’re bringing you double the micro tutorials in the Beginner’s Series!
The Beginner’s Series is a growing library of tutorials designed to give beginner artists a steady stream of skills and confidence in both acrylic and oil painting.
Firstly, you will learn how to paint realistic wool with acrylic paint in my 7-layer approach to painting with acrylic. This will be followed by the same image completed in oil paint (See below).

2. Fundamental Tutorial - Wool Beginner Course - Oils - September Friday, 12
The second micro tutorial takes a simple, beginner-friendly approach to oil painting alla prima, showing you how to capture the realistic texture of wool in just one sitting. It’s a quick and approachable exercise that makes tackling weird and wonderful textures feel straightforward.

3. Extended Demonstration Substitute: Core Class - Friday September 19
This month also includes a bonus short-format tutorial that builds on the concepts we’ve been exploring in our live demonstrations on light. In this lesson, I’ll show you how to apply the principles of light and shadow within complementary colour schemes to bring depth and realism to animal studies. We’ll begin by painting the animal itself, then layer in light and shadow to complete the effect.
Although this segment of the monthly content is usually a live demonstration, due to the extra time this particular lesson will take I’ve filmed this one as a pre-recorded tutorial.
4. Extra Live Q&A - Point of discussion: How to find your artistic voice Thursday, September 25th 10 am (ACST)
Finally, I’ll be hosting a Live Classroom Q&A session to discuss finding your artistic voice - what it means and how you can begin creating work that sets your style apart from others.
Of course, all questions are welcome and encouraged, so I’ll be keeping an eye on the chat box throughout, ready to dive into your thoughts and respond as we go.
If you are not able to make it to the sesson, you are welcome to send your questions to me by email ahead of time: carla@carlagraceart.com
I look forward to seeing your creations this month. Thank you so much for being here.

If you have any questions or requests, please feel free to send me an email at carla@carlagraceart.com
Kind regards
