What's on in November 2025
Hi everyone,
I hope you are well.
Welcome to November's content schedule! Here's a sneak peek of what you can look forward to this month:
- Main tutorial - Full Eagle Portrait for Beginners: Oil Paint - Available November 1 (today)
In this nearly three-hour beginner-level tutorial, I’ll guide you through painting a realistic Wedge-tailed Eagle portrait in oils, completed in a single alla prima sitting.
We’ll move through my three-stage process to build structure, colour, and texture step by step. Along the way, you’ll learn how to organise your palette, mix natural tones, and layer oils to create lifelike feathers, eyes, and a beak with depth and precision.
This tutorial is ideal for beginners looking to strengthen their oil painting technique and gain the confidence to complete a detailed bird of prey from start to finish.

2. Fundamental Tutorial - Eagle Feather Beginner Course - Oil Paint - November Friday, 14
To align with the main tutorial of the month, I focus on the beginner process of painting broad, flat feathers. This is where I break down the brushwork, blending, and layering techniques to demonstrate my approach to creating realistic feathers with oil paint.

3. Live Demo: Simple White Clouds in Oils - Thursday, November 20 10 am (ACDT)
This month's live class will focus on another element: Clouds. This month's live demo will be done in oil paint - just for something different. Simple white clouds are very satisfying to create without a complex colour palette or layering process.
In the new year, you will recieve more vibrantly coloured cloud tutorials; however, I am keeping the simpler versions of the elements for the live demos. This is also true for grasses, ground cover, water, trees, and bark, among others. I will teach you the simpler approach ahead of time so that you can start applying the techniques in your work as soon as possible.

If you are not able to make it to the session, you are welcome to send your questions to me by email ahead of time: carla@carlagraceart.com
I look forward to seeing your creations this month. Thank you so much for being here.
