What's on in December 2025
Hi everyone,
I hope you are well.
Welcome to December's content schedule! Here's a sneak peek of what you can look forward to this month:
- Main tutorial - Full Horse Portrait for Beginners: Acrylic Paint - Available December 1 (today)
In this beginner-level tutorial, Iāll guide you through painting a realistic horse portrait in acrylic, using my simple 7 layer process.
I chose a standard brown horse with a black mane, whose hair was mid length to demonstrate the process I use to create th texture of the flat strands, as well as the smooth skin of the face, the change in tones for the black mane and a simple textured fabric strap.
This tutorial is ideal for beginners looking to strengthen their acrylic painting technique and gain the confidence to complete a detailed horse portrait in a simple and straightforward layering process.
2. Fundamental Tutorial - Perspective Grasses - Acrylic Paint - December 12
To continue on with the theme I have begun with the live demonstrations, where we are now focusing on elements of nature, I'm going to share with you another angle for grasses. We have been over how to paint a close up view of grass, based on my original painting of the lion rolling on his back. Now I am going to demonstrate how to paint grass that is viewed from above, as you would see in a field that dissapears into the distance.

3. Live Demo: Simple White Clouds in Acrylic - Thursday, December 18, 10 am (ACDT)
This month's live class will focus on an acrylic layering process to create simple white clouds. Simple white clouds are very satisfying to create without a complex colour palette. We did the oils version of this tutorial in November, which you can view in your Exclusive Content Section under 4. Oil Painting Demonstrations, Tips and Exercises >>> Simple White Clouds - Oil Paint Demonstration
In the new year, you will recieve more vibrantly coloured cloud tutorials; however, I am keeping the simpler versions of the elements for the live demos. This is also true for grasses, ground cover, water, trees, and bark, among others. I will teach you the simpler approach ahead of time so that you can start applying the techniques in your work as soon as possible.

If you are not able to make it to the session, you are welcome to send your questions to me by email ahead of time to carla@carlagraceart.com

I look forward to seeing your creations this month. Thank you so much for being here.
Kind regards
Carla Grace
