Welcome to my new monthly Newsletter where I will share the planned content for the month, plus a little extra.
Among all the activities in the studio, I am excited to add three new pieces of content to help your practice grow. These are all request based, so if you want me to add something in particular to the list, please let me know.
September Content:
- Hyper detail tutorial - Compact short fur on the nose of big cats. Released September 2 and available in the store or already added to your All Access Subscription.
- Micro Tutorial - How toprofessionally photograph your work. Due for release Friday September 13. In this tutorial I will cover how to light the space, create atmosphere and colour correctness in the photographs you take of your paintings. This is not a tutorial on how to digitise your paintings for prints. This is going to cover how to create magazine quality imagery of your paintings within your studio, whether it is complete or inprogress.
- Live Demonstration: Second Pass of oil paint, sharing the process of my current painting. Thursday September 19. In this live demonstration I will be sharing my detailed process of creating vibrant purple and blue shadows along side bright sunny golden fur. This is an effect I am experimenting with in my current original painting of a pride of lions, where I am pushing my use of colour to create a more vibrant and interesting colour combination. I would like to share what I have discovered and show you the process.
August Content Recap
Lets go over what I released last month, just incase you missed it.
- Metallic Feathers. This tutorial covers the colour theory behind how to paint bright pink metallic humming bird feathers. It is not focussed on intense detail, rather on the colours and layering process. It is a fun and vibrant tutorial that I thoroughly enjoyed painting. If you missed it or are a Basic Access Subscriber, here is a taste of one section from the tutorial.

- Micro tutorial: How to paint dust with acrylic and oil paint. This tutorial was a request that I was more than happy to create as the process is rather simple, once you know it then youre able to use that in any part of your practice.
- Demonstration #16 - Textures: 6 Layer Exercise. Possibly one of the most fun and intense demonstration I have done to date. I painted three different textures in only 6 layers. It is part of the live demonstration content alreadt available in your subscription library.
